Meet Harlow!

Harlow is a sweet 20-month-old girl from West Fargo whose bright spirit shines through even the toughest challenges. On March 19, 2025, she was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumor—a rare kidney cancer most often found in children ages 5–7. In Harlow’s case, it was discovered much earlier.

Her journey began when she was just 8 weeks old, experiencing constant vomiting. On March 17, an ultrasound was performed to check for a blockage or other causes, and instead revealed a 7.7 cm mass on her right kidney. A CT scan the next day showed the tumor was actually 8.3 cm, taking up 90% of her left kidney. Based on its size and location, her medical team suspected Wilms’ tumor.

Acting quickly, the Sanford team performed a nephrectomy the day after the scan. Pathology confirmed the diagnosis, but brought relief as well—the tumor margins were clear, and her lymph nodes were unaffected. This was incredible news, as Wilms’ tumor can grow very quickly.

Today, Harlow’s scans have shown no signs of cancer, allowing for longer intervals between follow-ups. Her care team will continue to monitor her closely, and her family is grateful for every healthy, joy-filled day with their sweet girl.

Please keep Harlow and her family in your prayers.
