Meet Wyatt!
Wyatt is a 14-month-old boy that was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. When he was 1 week old, he underwent the first of three major open-heart surgeries. He had his second open heart surgery when he was 6 months old. Both surgeries resulted in an extended hospital stay due to complications from the surgeries.
Amongst the two surgeries, he has spent a total of 5 months in the hospital between Minneapolis and Rochester. Despite spending several months of his life in the hospital, he continues to be the happiest little man that loves life. He teaches his parents every day that life is a precious gift that is never guaranteed.
Wyatt will eventually have his third open heart surgery anytime between 1 and 4 years old. In the meantime, he is loving life at home and is currently working hard on learning how to walk and playing nonstop with his puppy, Wren.
